Contested Divorce
Contested divorce is one in which the partners are not able to come at a conclusion of their agreements and have issues relating to termination of the marriage. In such cases a lawyer or a mediator is hired and the court takes the final decision in such matters where the partners cannot negotiate.
Contested Divorce Proceedings are long, stressful, challenging and relatively more expensive. A party wanting to file a contested divorce has to show the court valid reasons (called ‘grounds’) for wanting to separate. Such grounds can be challenged by the other party.
